When measuring cartons for your product please use the following guidelines.
Box dimensions are always internal dimensions and must be stated in the sequence of Length, Width and Depth/Height. L x W x H
The length is always the larger of the boxes internal base measurements
The width is the smaller.
The height is measured from the base up.
See picture below for an example:
Most POS material needs to be very carefully packaged to arrive in pristine condition.
SYNTAX uses specially tailored cartons or flatbpacks for each POS material distribution.
POS Material Distribution Tips
6. How to measure cartons to pack POS material
4. Despatch cost is based on the higher of volume or actual weight
1. How to obtain a signature based proof of delivery
Cubing Rule (Volume or dead weight)
Australia Post and Freight companies do not only charge a parcel by the actual weight, they also measure it by the cubic size (or its dead weight) and charge on whichever measure is greater.
Cubic weight is calculated by measuring and multiplying the length, height and width of the parcel. The result is then multiplied by the industry standard cubic weight conversion factor of 250.
e.g. a parcel measuring 40cm long (0.4m) x 20cm high(0.2m) and x 30cm wide(0.3m)is equal to 0.024 cubic meter. Multiplied by the conversion factor of 250 gives, therefore, a cubic weight of 6kg.
( 0.4 x 0.2 x 0.3 = 0.024 0.024 x 250 = 6kg cubic weight)
SYNTAX uses a wide range of Road freight, Air freight, Couriers and Australia Post to reliably deliver POS material and product Australia wide and Overseas, and we select a mix of the most appropriate carriers for the POS distribution, depending on state, destination, parcel size, parcel weight, parcel fragility and time sensitivity.
Smaller parcels are often most cost effectively despatched by Australia Post Eparcel or Airfreight parcel service, and Road Freight is normally used for large/bulky despatches.
